The Building our Energy Future Together campaign introduces a road map for public utilities, local governments, academia and energy consumers to work together in a grassroots effort to ensure our community has affordable and reliable electricity now and into the future.

Challenges

In the utility industry, that means they’re demanding affordable electricity without sacrificing reliability. The answers to those demands are not found in bureaucracies that emphasize old ways of doing business. They’re found in new ideas and creative solutions that address the needs of today’s consumers.


The Smart Energy Source Solution
Smart Energy Source is one such common sense approach to ensure that affordable power and innovative energy services are available. Smart Energy Source brings together the City of Stillwater, Central Rural Electric Cooperative, Oklahoma State University and the engineering firm C.H. Guernsey & Co. in a collaborative effort that will:

• Lower costs by optimizing resources and services
• Improve reliability by leveraging the skills of Smart Energy Source partners
• Enable greater consumer, public and stakeholder involvement
• Create new products and services based on energy innovations
