Smart Grid Minimize
Multiple Interfaces
“Smart” communications means that data must have the ability to flow across platforms and applications. SES currently through the MySource initiatives is providing a central portal or gateway for all operational data to flow. Examples would be that data can be viewed on a local PC, online, iPhone or iPad. This allows users the ability to access data anywhere-anytime
Communication Architecture
A communication network is what will enable the many Smart Grid initiatives. SES is working collectively to assure that the communication network addresses the general requirements of an effective communication network which include; coverage, throughput, latency, communication direction needs, availability, reliability and security.
MySource Gateway
MySource Gateway provides for multiple interfaces for users. The MySource Gateway provides the utility a more direct communication with the C&I consumer enabling new services related to energy management and reliability.
Data Storage and Managment
Smart Grid equates to large amounts of data driving the need to consider and deploy new tools and management processes for data. SES has deployed and will continue to evaluate how data warehousing and data mart technology can enhance the overall management of data.

C&I customers can benefit greatly from Smart Grid initiatives as new sensors are being installed on both the distribution side and customer premises. The key is how to access all the data that is available. The communication network public or private will be critical as more data is passed between the C&I and utility.
