Smart Grid Minimize

Two of the four key objectives within the Smart Energy Source Business Plan include enabling consumer participation and enabling new products and services. Beyond the larger question of the overriding business model is the independent products and services that the smart grid will demand. These independent products and services will be more effectively deployed and executed as we evaluate and plan for these as business units.

Partnerships
Industry leaders agree that as we look to integrate the overall grid and drive the development of more services within the delivery of energy, it will require strategic relationships and partnerships. Smart Energy Source will research best practices and methods by which partnerships can leverage resource assets.
Collaboration
New business models will drive the need for higher levels of communication and collaboration. How to effectively communicate organizationally but also the need to share critical information for purposes of planning, analyzing and executing will be highly important.
Cooperation
Creating an environment for cooperation will be challenging as we move the industry from being focused on generation, transmission, distribution and end use. Smart Energy Source will research and develop methods for opening up areas of cooperation where none have existed breaking down barriers for cooperation.
Coordination
With the demand for partnerships, the challenge to coordinate projects and deliverables will become increasingly difficult. Smart Energy Source will research practices, methods and critical tools that allow for cross organizational coordination.
