Smart Grid Minimize

Managing data and maintaining the integrity, security and portability of data will be a significant challenge as we make the transition to smart grid. Aggregating and sharing system data that provides for an enterprise architecture to communicate wide-area measurement data across the grid along with the end user will require a commitment to collaboration, cooperation and coordination by all stakeholders
Database Structure
Evaluating data base structure and how various structures and protocols can best be utilized to meet the overall strategy of smart grid will be important research as we continue to merge new technologies with current database demands.
Data Storage
The demands of data integrity, reliability and security are driving the need for new options and solutions to managing data. Off-site storage versus on-site is becoming more of the norm due to cost constraints and security.
Data Integration
The term interoperability is used in many cases to describe the function of data integration. Key principles of this function would be data portability, open engagement and support for standards. Smart Energy Source will evaluate best practices within this critical function and what tools are most effective.
Data Security
With more and more data being accessed and processed today, it is imperative that consideration and evaluation is given to how best to meet current and future standards. Key to this will be how we maintain respect for privacy and, at the same time, increase value to the consumer.
